As the Creative Director on the SCION logo, I can tell you that the stylized "S" does contain meaning. The S is meant to relate to the constant swimming of a shark. Ever on the move. Since the brand took shape in California, it was important to represent the connection to extreme sports and the ocean. The shape also speaks to a road on the horizon. The logo is meant to create movement, dynamism and a bit of danger. -Wyndham
