I've owned two Scions, both xBs: a 2006 and a 2008. If the auto accident hadn't totalled the '06, I would still be enjoying it for its distinctive look and its unequalled gas mileage--recorded 44mpg at 57mph on a flat interstate highway on a windless day. So, the issue really is not hybrid or no hybrid, its simply better fuel economy with whatever engine is used. The next generation Scion xB has to perform higher than 35mpg. It's that simple.
