The 2008 Redline Time Attack season has commenced and with a total of 90 points stemming from three event wins, Chris Rado and WORLD Racing have won the Unlimited FWD Championship.

The first Redline Time Attack event that WORLD Racing competed in was July 19-20 in Fontana, California. Chris was ready to take on the challenge of racing on the huge oval track known as California Speedway.

Knowing that Chris would be driving the oval at speeds up to around 170 mph and that a stock Scion tC was never designed to go that fast, the WORLD Racing team had to make some modifications to insure that the car would be up for the job. And up for the job it sure was as, by the end of the event, the tC left the track in one piece with the top Unlimited FWD time of the weekend; an incredible time of 1:47.3, which was a full six seconds faster than any other car in his class.

After the successful weekend, Chris and the team were extremely excited for the next Redline Time Attack event where they would be invading Nashville Speedway, another big NASCAR oval.

The next weekend in Nashville, Chris soon learned that the Nashville Motor Speedway track was a much shorter and tighter course than he was used to, meaning he would have to adjust his normal racing style. Knowing that he was definitely going to have his work cut out for him, Chris was ready for the challenge and had his aim set on another 1st place finish.

Over the weekend, Chris laid down a lap time of 1:05.5, which was just a tenth of a second behind the track record for a production body vehicle. By receiving this time, which was five seconds faster than any other FWD competitor at the event, Chris and the WORLD Racing team were awarded 1st place in the Unlimited FWD Class and were also 2nd place overall at the event. And to put the icing on the cake, Chris and the WORLD Racing Scion tC now held the new track record for the fastest FWD lap time at Nashville Motor Speedway.

With two Redline Time Attack wins under their belts, Chris Rado and the rest of the WORLD Racing team were excited to arrive at Summit Point Raceway, ready to get on the Shenandoah track and attempt a third series win.

“Attempt” turned into “accomplished” as Chris got out on the track and ran a 1:36.2. This time was enough for WORLD Racing to win the Unlimited FWD 1st place spot. This time was also the record fastest time for a FWD vehicle at Summit Point’s Shenandoah circuit.

“It has been a great season for our team and we are so honored to be taking first place,” says Chris. “I’d like to thank Redline Time Attack for putting on these events, and of course my sponsors, fans, and friends for their unconditional support all season long. I can’t wait till next year!”
