Boobies Bus is coming to Ithaca

On Saturday, April 5, the Feel Your Boobies Foundation, a breast cancer awareness non-profit organization that targets women under 40 about being breast aware, is bringing their Boobies BusSM to Ithaca. The Boobies BusSM, a custom wrapped Toyota Scion, will be making its first stop on The Commons from noon to 4 p.m. with the goal of reminding young women to “feel their boobies.” The Boobies celebration will then continue later Saturday night with a Boobies BashSM from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the Second Floor Bar on The Commons.

The Bus is decked out in the pink Feel Your Boobies logo—providing a friendly reminder when you least expect it. Its mission is to spread the message of breast awareness wherever it travels, including Ithaca. Women under 40 do not generally receive mammograms to screen for breast cancer, so being in touch with what’s normal for them can help ensure that breast lumps are detected early and brought to a doctor’s attention.

The Boobies BashSM at Second Floor Bar is another opportunity to catch the Feel Your Boobies® Foundation in action. In traditional breast cancer awareness fashion, event sponsors are asking attendees of the Boobies BashSM to come dressed in their favorite pink or white attire. The cost of attending the event is free, but there is suggested donation of $3. Money raised at the event will be donated to the Feel Your Boobies Foundation to support their 2008 Boobies Awareness Campaign.

In addition to the Boobies BusSM on the Ithaca Commons and the Boobies BashSM, the Feel Your Boobies Foundation offers different ways to support their awareness campaign. From T-shirts, magnets, fundraising kits and more, the Feel Your Boobies Foundation presents a creative way of promoting a healthy and proactive habit that can save lives.
