Some of the most respected former Formula One (F1) drivers are ready to go wheel-to-wheel in this year’s Toyota Race of Legends at the 35th annual Rolex Monterey Historic Automobile Races, presented by Toyota. In addition to good-natured bragging rights, these drivers are looking to secure a $25,000 check that will be donated to the winner’s selected charity.

This will be the fourth year Hampton Road’s Largest Scion Enthusiasts Club Seven City Scions, will be hosting our annual Charity Car Show and Bass Off competition.

A huge thanks goes to all the Scion owners for coming out to Boulder City and making it an unreal weekend. We had owners from all over the country, all super bad and all super different. There was a great group of people — all brought together by what makes us different. And the party was wheels-off too. Flo Rida and Red Man killed it. Thanks to all of you. Scion, the “youth brand” of Toyota, has signed on to sponsor the Movement 08 electronic/techno music festival here over Memorial Day weekend. The festival is billed as the largest of its kind in the world and attracts some 45,000 spectators and 70 artists on five stages in the area of Hart Plaza in downtown Detroit.

Scion Regional Manager Julie Hoermle called Movement 08 “a marketer’s dream” since it, like the cars Scion makes, is geared toward Generations X and Y. Rather than mount a traditional car-based display, Scion plans to offer a “lounge” and gaming inside a 20-by-40-foot tent during the event, which takes place May 24-26. Well, there will be a few “strategically placed” cars, Scion says.

Scion, the youth brand of Toyota, will take center stage at Movement ‘08, as the automotive sponsor of the largest electronic and techno music festival in the world.

2008 marks the first year that Scion has been officially affiliated with the venerable, Detroit-based music festival. With the opportunity to engage consumers and support the creative community, Scion officials and local dealers see this sponsorship as a perfect fit for the brand.

Hundreds of Scion owners, from a variety of states, are expected to converge on Bristol Motor Speedway and Dragway, May 16-17, as part of the automotive manufacturer’s Scion Exposed ‘08 tour.

Typically held in locations in the Southeastern and Midwestern United States, Scion Exposed provides Scion owners a unique opportunity to gather and meet other passionate owners, while enjoying an assortment of great food and entertainment - compliments of Scion. This year’s event is held in conjunction with the Thompson Metal 150 UARA Late Model Race and O’Reilly NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals.
